I am PhD student (6th year as of 2026) in School of Earth and Environmental Sciences (SEES) of Seoul National University, Republic of Korea. I have majored Earth and Environmental Sciences in undergraduate (with minor in Mathematical Sciences), followed by Master-PhD intergrated course starting in March 2021. I belong to Prof. YoungHee Kim’s lab (SGTL), where I started working as undergraduate intern since the Winter of 2016 (excluding 2-year military service). Besides, I have been working closely with Prof. Won-Young Kim from Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory (LDEO), who gave invaluable insights on earthquakes for the last 5 years.

Specifically, my interest is focused on earthquake source seismology. So far, I have conducted detailed analysis of interpreting seismograms for better understanding of earthquake sequences and source properties, in particular in the Korean Peninsula. The skills include earthquake detection, location (absolute, double-difference), and interpretation of source time functions or source spectra. Furthermore, I am acquainted with statistical analysis of earthquake sequences, such as b-value, Omori law, and clustering analysis. Lastly, I have conducted calibration of seismometer orientations in South Korea, which is crucial step prior to any valid analysis of horizontal component seismograms.
